Across 3,567 Italian comuni holding at least one wedding venue, the median comune holds 1 and 51% hold exactly one; the busiest, Roma, holds 292. Counted from 10,460 venues listed on public Italian directories, read 2026-08-06. It is a count of listings, not a census of Italy.
Everything else on this site measures what a wedding costs. This measures how many other couples are choosing between the same properties in the same place, which is the number that decides whether your photographs look like everybody else's. No one publishes it, so here it is.

The distribution has almost no middle. 51% of comuni hold one venue and three quarters hold 3 or fewer, while the top of the table runs to 292. Averaging across that would produce a figure describing no comune in Italy, which is why the median and the shape are published and no mean is.

These are places, not properties: no venue is named on this page or anywhere else under /costs. A high count is not a criticism of a comune — Roma is crowded because Roma is Roma — it is a statement about how many other weddings are being planned around the same handful of addresses.

A region's median is published only at 40 venues or more, the same floor the price pages use and for the same reason: below it the middle number moves when one listing is added. The counts are printed either way, because a withheld figure and an absent market are different things. Not every region here is Italian — the catalogue carries a handful of properties over the Swiss border and in San Marino, and they are shown rather than quietly dropped.
How this was counted
10,460 venues, 3,567 comuni.
Wedding venues listed on four public Italian directories, deduplicated into one catalogue and counted by comune. It is a count of what those directories list, not a census of Italy: a comune with one venue here may have five that nobody has listed. No property is named on this page.
A comune is a region and a name, so two places sharing a name in different regions are counted separately. 13 listings carry no comune at all and are excluded rather than folded into the region they sit in, which would have invented a comune. Read 2026-08-06.
This is not a census. It counts what four public directories list. The properties nobody has documented are precisely the ones a directory does not carry, so a comune showing one venue may well have five. The count is a floor, and it is still the most honest available answer to “how many other couples are looking at this”.
The uncrowded places are where we can actually get supply, which is why the position and the statistic are the same thing. Describe the day you want and the composer selects from properties we hold, with the density of the comune printed beside them.
